Memories & Funny Faces

There are a few things about Chloe (stories) that I don't want to forget.  I've shared most of these with everyone but think they're also worth repeating!  Chloe is still so little but her personality is really coming out.  Poor girl comes by most of this honestly!

#1) I'm usually off on Mondays, but a month or so ago I had to take Chloe to work with me.  We run the restaurant (Best Impressions) at the Arts Center, and were having a tasting to discuss a new menu and some other changes.  Very informal meeting.  Chloe was very well behaved throughout the meeting -mostly playing or eating, etc.  Towards the end Chloe started getting a little restless, so I was holding her and kind of walking around the table still taking part in the conversation.  Keep in mind Chloe was about 5-5 1/2 months old at this time.  As each person is speaking, Chloe is straining her head to listen to each person speak!  It was as if she was a part of the conversation!  If she could talk, I think she would have been giving us her opinion on the food!

#2) Chloe has been eating baby food for about the past 2 months.  She's tried several things now -sweet potatoes, green beans, carrots, green peas, squash, applesauce, bananas & pears.  Chloe tried yogurt today and I'm introducing fresh avocado over the weekend! So far Chloe hasn't met a food she didn't like (see I told you she comes by all of this naturally)!  But the funniest part about dinner time with Chloe is she wants to be a part of it all!  Whether we're at home or a restaurant, if we're eating, she wants to eat.  Chloe has been to many restaurants in her short life, and we started putting her in a high chair probably a month ago.  She's really a little small, but as long as she's part of the action she stays pretty content!

#3) This "memory" just happened today and unfortunately I didn't get to witness it :(  When Chloe was 3 weeks old I had newborn photos taken.  Then, I had my favorites professionally matted and framed.  This collage is hanging in the hallway.  Every so often we (me and Jillian) stop and show Chloe pictures of "Baby Chloe" and talk about her and let her touch the picture (oh so gently)!  Today while Jillian was talking to Chloe about the pictures, Chloe opened her mouth and pressed it against the glass.  She gave Baby Chloe sugars!  Let me just say I about melted when Jillian told me this.  I really can't wait for the day that Chloe says Mama, but even more when I get sugars from my baby girl!

It seems like Chloe has been teething since birth...and we still haven't seen any teeth yet!  This is what I like to call the turtle face!  It must feel good on her gums because she kind of makes a sucking sound while making the face -it's quite entertaining!

This face is enough to break your heart!  Every picture I have on the blog shows how cute, sweet, precious and happy Chloe is - and she is MOST OF THE TIME.  But we have these times too...

There's my sweet baby girl!

I like all things pink, baby dolls...and TRUCKS!

Look out, 'cause here I come!  I'm on the move now!

I'm a BIG girl!
