Memorial Day Weekend - Day 2

What's a trip to Branson without going to Silver Dollar City...less stress, shorter lines, better food & more air conditioned places! Hey but the kids had fun & that's all that matters!

The boys

Da boys (a little fun with my PS Express app)

Geez mom, can't you fix my shades?

Waiting in line for Chloe's first amusement park ride...the anticipation was intense & HOT!

On the Frogs with Mom

And the Butterflies with Dad...once again, NO FEAR! She had a blast!

Pretty girl

"What happened...Daddy?"

"Look at that...Mama!"

It's magic, Chloe!

What's a trip to SDC without stopping at the funny hat shop?

The picture says it all

Silly pic

Forget this, when are we going back to the pool?

A stop at Freddy's for a ketchup eating contest...and some French fries & ice cream.  Chloe won.

Memorial Day Weekend -Day 1

Our first trip to the Branson condo!
Cool dude in Mama's hat & glasses

Can you guess the apple of his eye?

The prettiest girl at Joe's Crab Shack

Me (before the silly bib)

Serious business - I know I've said if before, but I think the steamed crabs with corn & potatoes might just be my favorite meal. It was delicious!

Eli in Bob's golf hat or as Shane called it, his "Houston Dale Nutt" hat!

"Oh my doodness!" Chloe's response to her surprise present from Kary.

So, my daughter has NO FEAR!  We got the arm floaties on AFTER she took a dip into the pool! Chloe literally jumped into the water as soon as we  got to the pool. She went under, I went in after her, she came up ready to go. "I swimmin' Mama!" She wasn't scared, out of breath or anything!

She had a ball playin' with the boys

And even caught the attention of a strapping young fellow!

Ever since I got my new camera, Eli keeps asking me to take his picture...which I love! Who could resist this handsome face?

Trip to Wally World 5-23-11

After Chloe & I spent the morning shopping for big girl beds, we had to do the weekly shopping. When close to finishing up, Chloe came across the Princess shoe display. Chloe says, "Wow, would you look at that!" At which time she pulls them off the display & tries to open the box.

Look at that face! How could I say no? It was tap-tap-tap all thru Wal-Mart!

Chloe with Grandma & Poppa 5-22-10

After working our tales off & a gluttonous yet quick trip through Memphis, we found our way back to Drasco to pick up Chloe.  She had a fun filled weekend with Grandma & Poppa.

Poppa's girl - they always take the cutest pictures together!

Until next time...as Chloe says, "bye, bye! see ya!"

My 100th Post

Shane traveled with the Simply the Best crew to Felton, AR (near Marianna) for the (you guessed it!) Felton wedding!

We prepared a lot of the menu onsite - grilled beef tenderloin, bacon wrapped scallops & veggies,  fried green tomatoes & chicken strips, cheeseburger sliders for a late night snack!

Two double sided buffets to service 400+ guest quickly

Beautiful floral & tent draping

Fried green tomatoes with corn salad

Shane & I stayed the night & went to Memphis the following day for some shopping and stops at a couple of our favorite restaurants.  We each chose one - an appetizer of grilled oysters at Pearl's for me...

And fried chicken for Shane!  It WAS the best ever!

This was a shot of the flooding right after going over the river bridge leaving Memphis. It was no wonder the interstate was closed for so long!

Nana Visit 5-15-11

So, I got a new camera a few weeks ago & I'm IN LOVE with it!  The pictures are so much better!

Nana was pushing Chloe around the backyard in her pink car; Chloe couldn't get enough!

I love this picture!

And this one too!

In this picture, Chloe's talking about the pretty flower in her hair

Diggin' in the dirt

At the very young age of (almost) 2, Chloe already appreciates the fruits of summer.  There's nothing better than grilled corn on the cob on the patio!

Catch Up for May

Who says you can't wear Christmas jammies in May!

The boys came for a visit a couple weekends ago & Shane taught them how to make the best burger ever. It started off by grinding the meat by hand.  Everyone got a turn...

Even Chloe (of course!)

We spent our Cinco de Mayo playing in the backyard (sans margaritas!)

Pretty girl!

A few Sundays ago, Shane & I let Chloe take her own shopping cart into Wal-Mart! We tried to fill the basket with her stuff (blanket, Elmo, Violet computer, etc)...but Chloe still found a way to sneak a few items into the checkout line!

On May 10 Julie & I went to hear the Robert Randolph Band at the Rev Room

Good tunes!

Robert Randolph was AWESOME!
